For children aged between 4 and 11 years old
Our after-school clubs are available Monday to Friday from 3.30pm to 5.15pm and are only £18 per child per afternoon. We offer pick-ups from both Notre Dame and Vauvert school charged at an extra £3 per child per afternoon. A snack is included, and we have a water refill machine in the club room.
At 3.45/4 there is a 45-minute language lesson taught by native, qualified teachers. Learning a language at a young age and is so much easier and fun and gives your child a definite head start, as well as giving them the opportunity to learn about other cultures and their way of communicating.
After the lesson, we offer various activities, games and arts and crafts, and there are plenty of games, toys and books available in our club rooms for children to play independently. We also offer help with homework. In our clubs, children may interact with children of different ages, thereby boosting their social confidence and skills.
Our staff have all undergone an Enhanced DBS Check as well as the appropriate training, such as Safeguarding, Prevent, Child and Infant First Aid Course and Food Safety.
Portuguese with Laura
Madeiran-born and raised, Laura is a creative person as shown by her degree in Fine Arts and master’s in Visual Arts Education, and she has a lot of experience with children, having completed her internship as a teacher at a high school in the city of Porto.
Italian & Spanish with Anna Lisa
Anna Lisa was born in Italy and travel around the world for quite a few years. Since 2008 she lives in Guernsey with her family. Although formally a marketeer and business specialist with a university degree in OR and business and an MBA in management, she has 9 years teaching experience in Italian, French, German and Spanish, teaching children and adults. She is also the school Director and Owner. Outside work she enjoys swimming, running and exercise in general especially with her 2 dogs.
Spanish with Laura
Madeiran-born and raised, Laura is a creative person as shown by her degree in Fine Arts and master’s in Visual Arts Education, and she has a lot of experience with children, having completed her internship as a teacher at a high school in the city of Porto.
German with Jane
French with Vivianne
Vivianne was born in France but has lived in Guernsey for a few years now. She has 6 years’ teaching experience and studied English and Spanish at University, and also has a degree in Spanish Literature and Civilization. She enjoys painting, writing, reading, dancing and theatre.
French with Audrey
Audrey was born in France and came to Guernsey the very first time as a student with her school and stayed here one week at Blanchelande to learn English. Audrey returned a few times over the years on holiday and since September she has been living here permanently. Audrey has travelled and lived in different countries with the aim of discovering new cultures and learning new languages. She speaks French, English and Portuguese. She can also read and understand the basics of Italian and Spanish and she is currently learning German. Other than languages she is also passionate about designing and organizing quizzes, covering a variety of different subjects.
