I would just like to say that the Spanish classes I attended were fantastic! Ines was wonderful at explaining in detail anything I didn’t quite understand and by speaking mainly in Spanish it really got me to speak with more confidence and understand the language so thank you so much for my classes!
I wanted to improve my English during my Guernsey stay so I chose to do group lessons with Accent. I had 30 lessons of 90 minutes each within we have learnt a lot. Our teacher helped us a lot and tried to find out during the first lessons what we would see during the classes, to improve our English. We spoke a lot, listened to some records, and did a lot of interactive exercises. The different topics were really interesting and enable us to learn a lot of new vocabulary. Obviously, if you are looking for some English classes in Guernsey, I would recommend you go to Accent. It will help you a lot and is also a good way to make friends when you are in a new country!
I took an adult group Italian lesson with Accent and Anna Lisa’s team. I can thoroughly recommend Accent for anyone wanting to begin, brush up on a language or at any stage of your learning journey. The course was well structured, fun, engaging and I was placed with a good mix of abilities that ensured the content was relevant and progressive. I had previously been learning from language apps but attending the lessons corrected my errors and developed my ability and confidence to converse in Italian at a much better level.

Our courses are friendly and provide a social environment where students can interact with each other. Learning a language in a social setting is a really enjoyable experience and actually increases language retention. The courses are a great opportunity to get to know the language as well as your teacher and other students.
Our French, Spanish and English language courses are split into levels, from complete beginner through to intermediate. They are designed to follow smoothly on from each other, giving you a clear sense of progression and achievement. The beginner courses aim to build your confidence in speaking and get to grips with pronunciation, and cover topics such as greetings, numbers, family, professions and more. The elementary courses build on this knowledge and introduce more structured grammar practice whilst focusing more on listening, reading and writing. The intermediate courses aim to further develop students’ grammar knowledge, and deal with more advanced topics, vocabulary and cultural content.

At Accent we constantly listen to our customer feedback, so if you see a language you want to learn but not the level, or would like to learn a language not shown in our course lists, please let us know and we will consider adding it to our 16-Week Evening Course. Similarly, if there is anything you would like to see added to the course outlines, please feel free to suggest it.
We require a minimum number of 8 students to be able run the 16-Week group course. We will always try our best to run all our courses as advertised but cannot guarantee that courses which do not meet the minimum student number will be able to run. For those that are looking for smaller groups at flexible times, we still offer our bespoke Adult Group Classes.
