Following successful visit of year 8 French Students, Guernsey students invited to stay in Combourg, France

“Au revoir mes amis”

Guernsey recently played host to 120 French Students from College Jean Bosco, St Macaire en Mauges in the Loire Region of France. The students came for 2 nights and 3 days to discover Guernsey’s rich history and culture.

The Year 8 students stayed with host families enjoying home cooked meals and practicing their conversational English. Some of the students were taken to the beach and other places on the island to explore and have some free time with their families.

Staying with a host family encourages students to speak a little English and experience the Guernsey way of life.

French Students Enjoyed their time in Guernsey

Feedback from the students has been good. English Teacher and Group Leader Marie Donne said that all the students had a great time in Guernsey and “They were very happy with their families”.

Highlights being Hauteville House, a tour around the island, Castle Cornet and Blue Bell Woods.

Many of the children made lasting friendships with their host families children who are still in touch today via social media.

Accent Language Schools opens new branch in Combourg, France

We have been developing fantastic course programmes for local students and recruiting lovely host families for our Guernsey students to stay with during their time in France.

Our new office is situated in the pretty village of Combourg between Rennes and St Malo in Brittany. Students going on our French holidays will enjoy mornings spent learning French and afternoons spent trying lots of activities organised by our Combourg team.
