New Year, New School Year, New Classes and New Challenges. These homework hacks are proven to help your little learners; concentrate, have more confidence in a test/study environment and become more productive!
We would have thought that wearing comfortable clothes would work against productive studying because the student would get too comfortable and therefore tired and not pay attention. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY: They is a link between comfort, understanding and performance between the brain!
WALK IT OUT
If your child is having a mind fog and their production is way down, send them outside to take a walk along the beautiful Guernsey cliffs on our glorious beaches failing that just around the block!
A study has proven that students who took a walk were able to focus over 60% better than before! Walking has been linked to creative though, so go for a stroll and release their creativity and get their thoughts flowing!
DITCH THE BLACK PENS!
No really, it’s been proven items written in blue ink are remembered better than items written in black. Who knew? Get a set of multi-coloured pens for note taking, they will remember the information better if it’s all of the colours of the rainbow!
SOUND THE ALARM
Early is best. Based on studies of brain function the time in which we can retain information is between 4am and 6am. Even if your child is not usually up at that time make a point for them to be. Their exam results and brain will thank them, though they may not thank you!
CHEWING GUM/ STUCK A SWEET WHEN STUDYING….
Give them a new flavour while they study and make sure they don’t have that sweet/ flavour again until their exam day.
On the day give them the flavour they had when studying. This will help them recall the information! Wow.
WRITE IT OUT
FUN FACT: writing information makes student’s 7 times more likely to remember the information than just reading it.
