Why students love coming to Accent Summer School in Guernsey

The Accent Summer School has welcomed lots of students this year from France and Spain and continues to prove popular and enjoyable for both foreign visitors and those in Guernsey benefitting from having them on the Island.
Each year we try to improve our programmes to ensure the students gain the best possible experience so they go home with fond memories of Guernsey, their host families and with improved English language skills.

Places we visited
Batterie Dollmann Gun Pit
Guernsey’s colourful history is in abundance across the whole island, but we like the Batterie Dollmann Gun Pit at Pleinment Point. This French Gun was restored by Guernsey armouries in 1977 and sits in No. 3 of the German Coastal Artillary Battery.

Beach Games and Picnics on Herm
Despite the weather we managed to play some beach games, and enjoy an afternoon on the ever beautiful Herm.
An Evening of Bowling Competitions
For an evening of entertainment, our students went to the MFL bowl. Always a firm favourtie for the students to spend some time together while engaging in a little bit of competition!
Lots of outdoor activities
We are blessed with beautiful country paths, great cliff walks, miles of beaches and caves, monuments & museums to explore, so there is always plenty of to do in the Summer months. Cycling, walking and outdoor games on a beautiful sunny day; what more could they want after spending the morning in the classroom?
English Classes at Accent
We have an excellent team of English Teachers dedicated to helping our foreign students gain confidence and knowledge with their English language skills

If a student has a birthday during their stay, then often, our lovely host families like to spoil them! Many thanks to the Newsom family for Asier’s birthday treats!
Final note
Guernsey is a fabulous place for foreign language students to learn English and we know this as many of them return year after year so we look forward to next year’s Summer School.
