What is Christmas to You?

What does Christmas mean to you?

It’s a question with many responses!

Churchgoers might answer with “the birth of Christ”

Children might say, “presents!” or “Santa Claus!”

Some might say, “food!”

My father might say, “bah humbug!” …

My eight year old daughter answered, “being with my family.”  The first thing she wants on Christmas morning, is a cuddle.  Of course, she’ll be eagerly awaiting her presents too . . . !!

Here at Accent, we’re a small team and we’re a family orientated team.  With both of us having three children each, we know how important Christmas is.  This is the reason that we took the decision in 2017 that we would not be open over the Christmas period each year going forward.

We have enjoyed successful Christmas holiday clubs and being with children who are excited for the big day is always full of festive fun and an electric atmosphere.  Even our festive failure of a gingerbread house in 2016 was full of laughs and fun!  I don’t think anyone will forget the naughty elf whom we all chased up to Cambridge Park and threw snowballs at!  But as much as we love the children who come to our clubs, Christmas is time for our own children.

We work hard all year and make many sacrifices, as all working parents do.  We’re fortunate however to be able to take this period and have it at home with our families, and so that’s what we’re going to do ?

So the phones can sit quiet for a little while.  The emails can go unanswered for a precious few days.  We will be back open and ready to go again in January with new services, classes, clubs and ideas.  But first, family time at the most wonderful time of the year.

We thank each and every one of our clients, teachers and families this year who have supported us and been by our side as we’ve grown and continued to welcome faces old and new!

We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and wish you all a happy and healthy 2019!
